Our first Listed Winner In Moonlit Show

After several placed efforts in stakes races, I'm delighted to report that St Gatien Stables finally celebrated our first black type winner! MOONLIT SHOW (SHOWCASING EX SHONA) won the Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse in impressive fashion this week. Given a beautiful ride by local jockey Billy Lee MOONLIT SHOW was sent straight to the front from the gates and never saw another rival as she won eased down by two lengths. She is a filly we have always liked a lot and clearly thrived on these softer underfoot conditions. It is so exciting for a small yard like ours to have such a talented filly and hopefully she will go on to make her presence felt in group races next month. Elsewhere it has been a frustrating couple of weeks with several of our runners hitting the post. Of the ones to note HASCOMBE STUD fillies KULLU and CRIMSON ROSETTE both put in eye catching debuts and look very promising going forward. We also had our first runner for Mr Erik Penser with BEECHAM OPAL making a promising debut in a particularly hot fillies Newmarket maiden. I would like to think that with softer underfoot conditions and a step up in trip, she will be going close next time

Coming up we could have an interesting weekend and I will be hoping that listed races are like London buses, as we are hoping to run CAROLINAE in the Stallions Breeding Winners October Stakes at Ascot on Saturday. She is a filly I have always held in the highest regard and although this is a huge step up in class, I would definitely not be running her in the race if I didn’t think she was up to it. Finally, we are hoping to complete what would be an incredible five timer with MIA TESORO. Her improvement has been astounding since she joined the yard and it would take a brave person to bet against her at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening as she seemed to win last time with plenty in hand.
